Field visit to receive completed works for the Solar Power Station project in Kafr Sur

In cooperation with the technical team of the Kafr Sur Village Council, the Association of Palestinian of Local Authorities (APLA) carried out a field visit to the town of Kafr Sur to inspect the completed works under a 40-kilowatt solar power station project. The project aims to promote the use of clean energy and reduce reliance on traditional electricity sources with a view to alleviating financial burdens on citizens and improving a stable power supply in the town.

The project contributes to meeting part of the local demand for electricity by installing an integrated photovoltaic system that provides a sustainable and secure energy source, while also enhancing the efficiency of resource and energy consumption. It serves as a practical model that can be replicated in other communities that seek alternative environmental and economic solutions. It fosters community awareness of the importance of transitioning to renewable energy.

This project is part of the Sub-grant Initiative for Area C, implemented by APLA with joint funding from the European Union and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The initiative aims to enable local government units to develop impactful and sustainable development projects that contribute to strengthening community resilience and scaling up their role in addressing long-standing service and environmental challenges.
