In cooperation with the Sanniriya and Ad-Dab’a village councils, the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) organized field tours to receive the technical works of two vital projects that support sustainable development and improve the quality of life in the targeted areas. This was part of APLA’s pursuit to promote community resilience in the so-called Area C through the Sub-grants Initiative, launched by APLA and funded by the European Union and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
In Sanniriya, technical works of the Construction of Central Solar Panels project in the presence of the Sanniriya Village Council and APLA representatives. The project aims to integrate the solar panel system with the local grid and provide sustainable clean energy at low cost. This will address short power supplies and improve electricity service management, particularly in the so-called Area C of the village.
Ad-Dab’a Village Council received APLA representative and handed over the Ad-Dab’a Children’s Park project, which provides a recreational space and fulfils the needs of all community members, including women, children, and people with disabilities. The park contributes to enhancing the quality of life and establishes the village council as a key partner in local development by providing additional services beyond meeting basic needs.
These visits are part of APLA’s commitment to support initiatives that promote sustainable development and provide innovative solutions to cope with challenges facing communities, especially in Area C. By implementing similar projects, APLA seeks to strengthen LGU capacity to provide high-quality services, improve citizens’ living conditions, and support socioeconomic development.
