Nabulsi Knafeh: A Distinctive Flavor of Nablus, Shared with the World
Nablus is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, and its Knafeh has become one of the most recognized culinary traditions of Palestine. Its distinctive layers, carefully balanced flavors, and time-honored preparation reflect a craft refined across generations and closely associated with the city and its people.
More than a celebrated sweet, Nabulsi Knafeh forms part of the city’s cultural identity and reflects the knowledge, skills, and traditions through which Palestinian communities preserve and share their heritage. Each city contributes its own distinctive character to the cultural landscape of Palestine, together shaping a heritage rich in diversity, authenticity, and continuity.
During Solidarity Week with Palestine, we celebrate Nabulsi Knafeh as an expression of this living heritage. Its name carries the legacy of its city of origin, while its continued presence connects generations and introduces Palestinian culture to audiences around the world. Through traditions such as these, our cities share their stories, affirm their cultural identities, and strengthen the connections between people and places.
This video was produced in cooperation with Nablus Municipality as part of the Solidarity Week with Palestine, and the Catalan – Palestinian Municipalities Initiative, D11: Cities of Palestine, implemented by the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) in partnership with the Barcelona Provincial Council (DIBA) and Barcelona City Council (BCN).
