Musakhan: The Land, Gathered on a Plate

In Palestine, the olive tells a story that begins in the land and finds its way to the table. With Musakhan, that story comes together in the oil of our harvests, the bread of our kitchens, and a flavor familiar across Palestinian homes, carried from one generation to the next.

More than a dish, Musakhan embodies a bond with the land that no words can fully convey. It is a living part of our heritage, sustained through the everyday lives of our people and passed on despite the threats facing our homeland and its people.

From Dura, we share this dish as part of Solidarity Week with Palestine, celebrating an authentic Palestinian tradition and our people's enduring connection to their land, identity, and stories.

From the soil where the olive grows to the table that brings us together, this story remains Palestinian.

This video was produced in cooperation with Dura Municipality as part of the Solidarity Week with Palestine, and the Catalan – Palestinian Municipalities Initiative, D11: Cities of Palestine, implemented by the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) in partnership with the Barcelona Provincial Council (DIBA) and Barcelona City Council (BCN).
