APLA and Ramallah Municipality Organize an Activity on the SDGs

The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) and Ramallah Municipality organized an awareness-raising corner on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of the Al-Harja Market activities organized by the municipality. The activity was implemented under the project “Mobilizing of Palestinian LGUs Competences in Knowledge Exchange and SDGs Adaptation - Local Governance Reform Programme (LGRP III)", funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by GIZ.
The activity aimed to raise awareness of the SDGs, their importance, and their role in building more inclusive and sustainable communities. It also provided an open space for participants to engage with the SDGs through a range of interactive and educational games and activities addressing the 17 SDGs and their different dimensions, including social, economic, environmental, and development-related aspects.
The activities also contributed to simplifying the concepts of the SDGs and highlighting their connection to issues that directly affect the lives of individuals and local communities, while encouraging participants to reflect on their role in contributing to their achievement.
The activity forms part of APLA’s efforts, to promote awareness of the SDGs and support their localization at the local level. It also highlights the pivotal role of LGUs in advancing the SDGs through improving local services, strengthening community participation, and supporting inclusive and sustainable development in Palestinian communities.
