APLA Executive Director Mr. Abdallah Anati met with Dhahiriya Mayor Mr. Ali Al-‘Awawiseh, accompanied by a municipal delegation, as part of efforts to strengthen communication and coordination with local government units (LGUs) and to explore avenues for cooperation.

The meeting reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest, discussed the municipality’s needs and priorities, and examined mechanisms for cooperation and coordination between APLA and Dhahiriya Municipality to support its development efforts and improve services for residents. The discussion also addressed APLA’s role in building the capacities of local government units, representing them, and defending their interests.

The meeting covered international relations and partnerships, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in supporting LGUs. Participants explored opportunities to benefit from decentralised cooperation programs and partnerships with municipalities and international organizations to promote knowledge exchange and support sustainable local development.
