APLA Completes the Implementation of the Women’s Training and Business Incubator Center Project in Qibya

The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities- APLA completed the implementation of the “Women’s Training and Business Incubator Center” project in Qibya, in cooperation with Qibya Village Council, within the framework of the “Empowering LGUs through Local Economic Development Grants” project, funded by the French Consulate General in Jerusalem and in partnership with VNG International.
The project aims to support training and employment activities and promote women’s economic empowerment in Qibya by providing an enabling environment for small businesses and strengthening women’s entrepreneurial capacities, contributing to the creation of sustainable job opportunities and enhancing the role of women in local development.
The project included the development and equipping of the center’s facilities to support the implementation of various vocational and training programs, through the establishment of fully equipped training rooms, a sewing workshop, and a beauty salon, in addition to rehabilitating supporting spaces and services necessary to provide a suitable environment for training, work, and community-based production.
The project also included a capacity-building component targeting Qibya Village Council through the provision of technical and administrative follow-up and supervision, strengthening staff capacities in project preparation and proposal writing, monitoring project implementation, supervising contractors’ work, and enhancing skills related to the financial and technical procedures of managing development projects.
This intervention represents an integrated model for local development in terms of its impact, as it combines both the economic and social dimensions while transforming an unutilized space into a productive and community-oriented space that contributes to improving residents’ living conditions and strengthening the role of women in achieving sustainable development.
