The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities "APLA" conducted a meeting on gender integration into APLA's work, targeting the entire staff of APLA, as part of the capacity-building plan for APLA's staff, which aims to maintain the continuous professional development, build the staff's capacities, and develop their knowledge and skills to achieve the realization of APLA's goals.
The Gender Issues Specialist, Fida' Al-Barghouthi, provided the training by covering the main concepts related to gender integration using opportunities, benefit and results approaches, clarifying concepts of gender mainstreaming as a tool for analysis and planning the path of gender integration, in addition to analyzing APLA's vision and mission, linking it to issues of inclusion and gender. Moreover, she assessed the capacities and skills of the staff to identify the mechanisms of gender integration in all circles of APLA's work.
The training is part of APLA's Multiannual Action Plan funded mainly by the EU, out of APLAs work approach that seeks to provide all supporting tools to its staff in order to keep up with the local, regional and global efforts. Under APLA's commitment to develop its policies and implement its activities in a manner that guarantees taking into consideration the needs and inclusion of everyone.
