The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities "APLA", represented by its President, Abdelkarim Al-Zubeidi, held a meeting with the Italian Consul General in Jerusalem, Giuseppe Fedel, at Salfit Municipality, with the aim of discussing means of enhancing joint cooperation between the Palestinian local authorities and their Italian counterparts through joint projects implemented by APLA and its partners in Italy.

Al-Zubeidi clarified the importance of the projects implemented by APLA and its counterparts in Italy as it supports the institutionalization of relationships, enhancement of partnerships and exchange of experiences and expertise, praising the efforts and interest of the Italian Consulate in such projects and decentralization, which APLA is establishing in partnership with the FELCOS Umbria, confirming APLA's interest in establishing and forming this cooperation that supports their effort in overcoming geopolitical challenges.

In return, His Excellency, the Italian Consul General reiterated the importance of the role played by local authorities in Palestine, in light of the Palestinian particularity and the tough political reality, as it continues to be fragmented areas, clarifying the importance of enhance partnerships and supporting it to provide a model for exchanging experiences and knowledge while supporting their local authorities in providing inclusive and sustainable services.
