Statement of Condemnation and Disapproval
In a shameful and unusual act, a person assaulted Bethlehem Mayor Mr. Anton Salman during performing his municipal duties.
The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) condemned and disapprove this cowardly assault on Mr. Salman, and calls on our security services to pursue the aggressors, bring them to justice, and take the needed legal action against them to be a deterrent to any behavior that could affect the law prestige, the municipal work regulations and its role in building institutions that serve citizens and protect their rights, and ensures that the law applies to everyone.
APLA with all its components stands united in the face of all attempts that undermines the legal status granted to councils and local authorities. Affirming its inclusive support to Mr. Anton Salman and Bethlehem Municipality, as well as, standing side by side with all Palestinian Local Authorities Presidents, Members, and Executive Staff.
