APLA Hosts a German Municipal Delegation

In light of the Palestinian-German municipal partnership project, The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) hosted a German delegation including representatives of the German municipalities to an introductory tour in the Palestinian cities, organized in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ's) Local Governance Reform Programme and the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW) from Engagement Global.

The German delegation has visited several Palestinian Local Government Units (LGUs) in the southern, central, and northern Governances to better understand the Palestinian LGUs situation on the ground. The German representatives and the Palestinian LGUs Mayors and representatives discussed ways of improving and supporting LGUs and enhancing the mutual collaboration.

Moreover, APLA hosted the German delegation for dinner in the presence of APLA's President Eng. Mousa Hadid, and its Executive Committee members, and partner institutions, in which Eng. Hadid expressed his gratitude for the deep relationship between the Palestinian municipalities and their German counterparts, stressing the need to maintain and develop bilateral relations between the two countries. Eng. Hadid affirms APLA's keenness to welcome foreign delegations in Palestine and have a better understanding of the challenges and obstacles facing the Palestinian LGUs.
