Technical Exchange Courses under the Catalan – Palestinian Municipal Cooperation Initiative, District 11: Cities of Palestine

This video documents part of the activities of the Catalan–Palestinian Municipal Cooperation Initiative, District 11: Cities of Palestine, implemented by the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA), in partnership with the Barcelona Provincial Council and Barcelona City Council. The initiative included two specialized technical exchange sessions held in Amman, Jordan, bringing together 24 representatives from 24 Palestinian local government units (LGUs), along with more than 30 participants from Catalonia representing a number of Catalan municipalities, universities, and institutions. The two trainings focused on “Urban Resilience, Urban Planning and Water Management” and “Local Economic Development and Socio-Economic Development.”

The two trainings provided a space for learning and knowledge and experience exchange between representatives of Palestinian LGUs and their counterparts from Catalan municipalities, universities, and institutions through training sessions, discussions, presentations, and practical experiences addressing a range of issues and challenges related to municipal work and local development. The sessions also created opportunities to build professional connections, strengthen communication and cooperation between the two sides, and support decentralized cooperation and city diplomacy, paving the way for further partnerships and the development of joint initiatives and projects in the future.
