APLA’s Key Milestones for 2024

The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) continues to implement key initiatives aimed at strengthening local governance, enhancing transparency, and supporting Palestinian local government units (LGUs). The following milestones define APLA’s focus areas for 2024:

• Development Projects in Area "C": APLA is overseeing the implementation of development projects in the so-called Area "C" to improve service delivery and promote sustainability.
• Advocacy for Financial Independence and Legislative Reforms: Efforts are underway to strengthen advocacy initiatives that support the financial independence of LGUs and drive legislative reforms to enhance local governance structures.
• Establishment of the Mayor’s Forum: APLA is launching the Mayor’s Forum, a platform designed to facilitate dialogue, experience-sharing, and capacity-building among local leaders.
• Development of the Baladiyah Meter Platform: The Baladiyah Meter platform is being developed to enhance transparency and accountability in local governance, ensuring better monitoring and evaluation of municipal performance.
