APLA Awards Former Members of the Executive Committee

The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities APLA, and its President Abdel Karim Al-Zubeidi awarded the former members of the executive committee and the former president Eng. Musa Hadid for their efforts and contributions to enhancing APLA's role as a representative of all Palestinian LGUs during the last cycle of the executive committee, attended by H.E. Minister of Local Government, Eng. Majdi Al-Saleh, the Deputy Minister, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Budairi, and APLA's Executive Director, Eng. Abdallah Anati in Rmallah.

 

H.E. Eng. Al-Saleh congratulated APLA for concluding its internal elections, congratulating APLA's new President Al-Zubeidi and the new members of the executive committee. Moreover, he commended the role played by the former president of APLA Eng. Hadid and his colleagues at the executive committee side by side with the Ministry of Local Government, especially in issues related to amending and reviewing the regulations, laws and polices related to the local governance sector. In addition, he emphasized the importance of this partnership and unifying efforts to support local authorities.

 

Al-Zubeidi commended the role played by the former executive committee in making a strategic shift for APLA based on committing to and supporting APLA's members as well as clarity of its vision and goals. He further clarified that what has been accomplished increases the responsibilities of the new executive and administrative committees in order to guaranteed sustainability of APLA's work and providing support to local authorities while paving the best circumstances for providing services to the citizens in a way that pushes towards inclusive development.

 

On his turn, the former president of APLA Eng. Hadid appreciated Al-Zubeidi's and the new members of the executive committee's interest in and appreciation of the former members, expressing his pride in each of APLA's members, especially members of the executive and administrative committees for their trust, faith and continued support to APLA over the past period. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of working in full partnership with the government, its institutions, both local and international partners to contribute to building Palestinian National Institutions authentic in its contributions to serving the citizens, and building our independent state with Holy Jerusalem as its Capital.

 

APLA's Executive Committee convened its meeting No. 02/2023 prior to the mentioned meeting, to discuss the priorities of the next phase and the main issues needing follow up. During the meeting the specialized committees for following up the work on all relevant issues and problems were formed and distributed.
