The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) participated in the meetings of the United Cities and Local Governments Organization, in the Middle East and West Asia branch (UCLG-MEWA), held at Gebze-Turkey, attended by APLA's President, Eng. Musa Hadid, and APLA's Executive Director, Eng. Abdallah Anati as well as the Palestinian Mayors, members of the Executive Office. The meetings included UCLG-MEWA's Executive Office meeting in addition to the presidential meeting and the presidential meeting of the environmental committee.
During the Executive Office meeting, Eng. Hadid was elected as a special representative of Multi-Level Governance at UCLG-MEWA, given that he filled the position of Co-President of the organizations for two successive terms, in addition to presenting the administrative reports, and the approved activity and program reports.
APLA's Executive Director, Eng. Anati, moderated the objective session on the role of smart cities in combating climate change, organized under the environmental committee sessions, knowing that APLA is a member of the Executive Office of UCLG-MEWA, member of the Executive office and the Global Council of UCLG, President of Cities Diplomacy Committee at UCLG-MEWA, and Co-President of the Environmental Committee and the Gender Equality Committee.
