The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities and the Ministry of Finance Announce Ceasing the Imposition of Income Tax on the Revenue of Local Authorities

The Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) announced that it was agreed with the Palestinian Ministry of Finance and Planning to cease all procedures taken from the ministry’s side with relation to imposing income tax on the revenue of local authorities.

This decision was the result of a series of meetings held between the APLA chairman, Eng. Mousa Hadid, the Minister of Finance Dr. Shukri Bishara and the Minister of Local Governance Eng. Majdi Al-Saleh.

It was agreed to cease all claims from local authorities to pay income tax on their revenues (such as rent and other revenues), and stop the prevention of local authorities from granting deduction from source certificates or any other procedures that lead to obstructing the work of local authorities.

It was also agreed to address the constitutional court to request a decision on interpreting article (7/1) of the Income Tax Law of 2011 and its amendments.
