A Palestinian Delegation Concludes its Participation in the Palestinian Municipalities Training Program in the Field of Water and Sewage in Istanbul

A Palestinian delegation concluded its participation in the training program titled 'City Network Management' and 'Sewage Management' which was held in Istanbul. The training is coordinated by the United Cities and Local Governments of the Middle East and West Asia Regional Organization (UCLG-MEWA) and in collaboration with the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA), Union of Turkish Municipalities Turkey, Istanbul Water Sewerage Administration (ISKI) and Pendik Municipality in Turkey.

 During the program, which was attended by 22 representatives of water and sanitation workers from the Palestinian municipalities, a number of Mayors and Members of the Palestinian Local Councils, and a representative of the Palestinian Water Authority, participants received special training using GIS applications, SCADA data collection, joint business applications and management of drinking water and sanitation pipes.

 Over the course of five days, the program discussed methods of water leakage control and intelligent grid applications, as well as management of wastewater treatment facilities, problem response and solution proposals, solid waste disposal methods, and models of wastewater treatment plant design, Inspection of industrial wastewater. Participants received certificates from the organizing institution in Turkey.

This training program is part of a series of specialized programs and training organized by APLA in cooperation and partnership with several International Institutions and Unions, which mainly aims to enhance capacities and exchange experiences between LGUs in Palestine and their counterparts in different countries of the world.
